Program.

Congratulations to the Wachenfeld Family:
Joanne, Jeff, Amanda, Bradley, Colleen and Dillon, 2009 Family Volunteers of
the Year at SHY.
"Volunteering at the Y has become part of our family tradition and is our
way to help other families enjoy the Y as much as we do" says Joanne. We are
truly grateful having the Wachenfelds part of our Y and our community.
Regular practice schedule for the week of Nov. 23-27.
No practices Thursday, Nov. 26th as the Y is closed.

Dear SHY Parents and Swimmers,
As most of you are aware, I was invited to Coach a Competitive Swim Camp for
the Berlin, Germany Bear-a-cudas. It was a rewarding and eye opener for me
and very productive. To have this experience with a team from Europe was an
exceptional and educational opportunity.
Our former swimmer Philipp Hegner and parents, Ulrike and Holger, wanted and
asked me to please give their fondest regards and thoughts to all the SHY
swim team and parents.
During my stay they constantly asked about our team, their times, meets, and swimmers he swam with and they stay in touch with what is going on thru the internet. They have such fond memories of us and expressed so daily. They even wore their SHY shirts and Philipp his Zone jacket (he still has two records with our team).
If anyone cares to have his internet address, please let me know. They would be happy to hear from you!

SHY Team Family Directory: Orders due by
October 15th, 2009
For the first
time SHY is offering swim team families a printed directory with swim team
families address, phone and email information. The SHY Swim Team Family
Directory will provide a handy listing of all swimmers on the team and will list
their family phone, cell and email addresses. This will be a
glove-compartment-sized directory that will come in handy for families that may
want to carpool with others to practices and meets. The cost of the directory is
$5.00. Directories may be ordered at the Swim Team Picnic on Sunday, October 4,
or may be ordered by filling in the order form and mailing to Patrice Cummings.
Why not purchase one for home and one for the car(s)? The deadline for ordering
and inclusion is October 15.
